Microenterprise: Moving Forward in Michigan

The Consumer and Community Affairs Division co-sponsored a conference entitled "Microenterprise: Moving Forward in Michigan" on February 19, 2009 at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield.

The one-day conference, the second in the series of Building Sustainable Communities, presented providers and policymakers an overview of the state of microenterprise in Michigan, highlight innovations and best practices, and allowed participants to offer feedback on a plan to keep microenterprise moving forward in Michigan. A diverse group of stakeholders came together to plan this event. These stakeholders included Detroit LISC, the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM), the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the Center for Nonprofit Management at Lawrence Tech University and Michigan LISC. This conference is a unique opportunity to get informed and updated on the proven community development tool of microenterprise.
