Katy Jacob is a business economist, financial markets, in the economic research department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Jacob’s research focuses on financial markets, payments trends and financial institution strategy.

 

Before joining the Chicago Fed, Jacob was the research director of the Center for Financial Services Innovation (CFSI), an affiliate of ShoreBank Corporation. Prior to her work at CFSI, she served as a project director of the Woodstock Institute. Jacob has published more than 25 papers on payments issues and consumer financial services.

 

Jacob received a B.A. in sociology and English from Macalester College and a masters in urban planning and policy with concentrations in economic development and community development from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
