Midwest Manufacturing Output Growth Remained Strong in June
The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) rose 0.7% from May to June, reaching
a seasonally adjusted level of 166.9 (1992=100). Revised data show the index was at 165.8
in May, and had risen 0.4% from April. The Federal Reserve Board’s industrial production index
for manufacturing (IPMFG) increased 0.3% in June, after rising 0.4% in May. June output in
the region was 8.4% higher than a year earlier, while output in the nation was 6.4% higher.
