Midwest Manufacturing Output Rises in April
The Chicago Fed Midwest Manufacturing Index (CFMMI) rose 0.4% in April, to a seasonally
adjusted level of 118.5 (1997=100). Revised data show the index fell 1.4% in March,
to 118.0. The Federal Reserve Board's industrial production index for manufacturing
(IPMFG) rose 0.1% in April. Regional output in April was 2.0% higher than a year earlier,
lower than the nation’s 3.5% increase.
