FDIC Issues Fourth Quarter 2006 Quarterly Banking Profile 
The fourth quarter 2006 Quarterly Banking Profile (QBP) is now available on line. FDIC-insured institutions reported total net income of $35.7 billion for the quarter. This was the lowest quarterly earnings total in 2006, but it was still more than the industry has earned in any quarter prior to 2006.
