Susan M. Collins is the Edward M. Gramlich Professor of Public Policy and Professor of Economics at the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. She is also a nonresident senior fellow in the Economic Studies program at Brookings, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Professor Collins served as the Joan and Sanford Weill Dean of the Ford School of Public Policy from August 2007 to July 2017. Known for her collaborative leadership style, she fostered a climate of inclusion while increasing student, faculty, and staff diversity.
Professor Collins is an international macroeconomist whose research interests focus on understanding and fostering economic growth in developed and developing economies. Her work has been published in numerous professional journals.
Professor Collins received her BA, summa cum laude, in economics from Harvard University in 1980, and her PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1984. She is a Jamaican, who grew up in the United States and became a U.S. citizen in 1997.

Maurice Obstfeld is the Class of 1958 Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. From 2015 through 2018, he served as Economic Counsellor and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund. During 2014 and 2015, he was a Member of President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers. He co-authored International Economics (with Paul Krugman and Marc Melitz), Foundations of International Macroeconomics (with Kenneth Rogoff), and Global Capital Markets (with Alan Taylor). Prior to joining the economics department at Berkeley, he held faculty appointments at Columbia and the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a visiting appointment at Harvard.
Kristin Forbes

Kristin Forbes is the Jerome and Dorothy Lemelson Professor of Management and Global Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Sloan School. She is also a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and Centre for Economic Policy Research, and a member of the Bellagio Group and Council on Foreign Relations. Before joining MIT, Forbes worked at the World Bank and Morgan Stanley. She has regularly rotated between academic and senior policy positions, and has won numerous teaching awards. From 2014 to 2017, Forbes was an external member of the Monetary Policy Committee for the Bank of England. From 2003 to 2005, she was a member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers. From 2001 to 2002, she was a deputy assistant secretary in the U.S. Treasury Department. Forbes received her PhD in economics from MIT and graduated summa cum laude with highest honors from Williams College.
