Michael M. Magee, Jr. was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Independent Bank Corporation in Ionia, Michigan on January 1, 2005. Prior to that he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Independent Bank Corporation in Ionia, and has been with the company since 1987.
Independent Bank Corporation is the bank holding company ($3 billion in assets) for Independent Bank, Independent Bank West Michigan, Independent Bank South Michigan, and Independent Bank East Michigan. The banks serve customers throughout the lower peninsula of Michigan from more than 100 branches and loan offices.
His previous experience includes positions as Vice President, Commercial Bank, Greenville, Michigan (1985-1987), as well as Vice President, Ludington Bank & Trust (1978-1985).
Mr. Magee was born in Ionia, Michigan. His education includes Graduate School of Banking (1985); attended University of Wisconsin, Prochnow Graduate School of Banking and the University of Arkansas, Bank Executive Development School (1982) and Northwood University.
