Zain Mohey-Deen is a business economist in the economic research department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He is a member of the Chicago Fed insurance initiative. The initiative involves documenting and tracking the relationship between the insurance industry and the broader economy. In particular, they are analyzing and assessing the transmission of financial shocks to and from the insurance industry.


Mohey-Deen has worked in risk management in banks and insurance companies where he has developed and implemented asset liability management models. He likes evaluating new investment products and non-standard financial instruments. Most recently he was vice president for market risk analytics at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago.


Mohey-Deen has a B.Sc. from the London School of Economics and an M.S. in financial mathematics from the University of Chicago.
