Midwest Cyber Workshop

February 15, 2023
What are the biggest cyber threats we face within banking? How can we protect ourselves against cyber incidents?
The Midwest Cyber Workshop offers community bankers an opportunity to gather and network while also hearing from experts in the field regarding the top risks of cybersecurity.
This year, we welcomed keynote speaker Governor Michelle Bowman to share her perspective on cyber risk and community banking in the current environment, and to answer questions from bankers. We delved into table-top exercises at each location that demonstrated how cybersecurity incidents disrupt networks and systems and impact consumers and users. Federal Reserve examiners shared cyber-related examination findings and best practices. Lastly, industry and law enforcement cyber experts offered their insights on the trends and challenges they are seeing across the financial industry.
The Federal Reserve Banks of Chicago, Kansas City, and St. Louis hosted onsite from their three respective locations for the 2023 Midwest Cyber Workshop. Livecast sessions connected attendees to featured experts at each Reserve Bank throughout the event. A remote option was available for those unable to attend onsite.
