Brett Solimine is a financial markets specialist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. In this role, he conducts research and analysis related to financial markets and financial market infrastructures.
Prior to joining the Chicago Fed, Brett was a policy advisor with the U.S. Treasury Department focused on debt management, financial market regulation, and the government’s response to the financial market stress in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Before this, Brett held roles in several areas of the Markets Group of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he contributed to a variety of the group’s market outreach and operational work. This included developing money market reference rates, such as the Secured Overnight Financing Rate, or SOFR, and conducting open market operations.
Brett holds a master’s degree in international economics and international political economy from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Siena College.
