Index Shows Midwest Growth Remained Above Average in October
The Midwest Economy Index (MEI) decreased to +0.36 in October from +0.46
in September, but remained above average for the seventh straight
month. The relative MEI moved down to +0.33 in October from +0.43 in
September. October’s value for the relative MEI indicates that Midwest
economic growth was somewhat higher than would typically be suggested by
the growth rate of the national economy.
